tanks direct
Originally based in Home Hill and then in Ayr in Far North Queensland, Tanks Direct had been well established in the region for a number of years when it was acquired by AWS in 2005.
Tanks Direct manufactures a range of polyethylene products for residential and rural markets, including rainwater tanks, molasses tanks and other farm products. Tanks Direct also supplies a range of fittings and accessories to accompany the tanks range.
In late 2006, Tanks Direct expanded its operations – and distribution capability – to the Sunshine Coast with a manufacturing plant and showroom at Yandina. From this location, the business is well-positioned to grow its market share in the area from Caboolture and Redcliffe to Maryborough and Bundaberg.
Featuring a more flat-ribbed profile compared to Clark Tanks, the Tanks Direct range provides a modern alternative to complement the Clark range in the marketplace.
ANOTHER ENVIRONMENTAL WINNER
In 2007, Tanks Direct teamed up with No. 1 Aussie Hangout Pty Ltd and began manufacturing the award-winning 'world's best portable urinal'.
This environmentally-friendly invention is a freestanding unit that requires no mounting, no plumbing and is odorless while in use. The 600mm trough is fitted with a waterless seal cartridge that is filled with a Blueseal Gel. This substance allows urine to pass through it and blocks odors escaping.
The unit features a foot pump and hand wash facilities, complemented by a soap and paper towel dispenser, as well as a 50-litre rubbish compartment. This clever creation is also water-friendly, requiring only a 35-litre fresh water tank. The waste tank holds 220 litres of waste, which equates with approximately 300 uses. Waste can then be treated with a culture of enzymes, and once at a safe level, may be dispersed onto trees, lawns and gardens with no negative impact to the environment.
COMMUNITY

AWS actively supports the community through its brand divisions around Australia. At the branch level, Tanks Direct Yandina has provided that support in the form of a number of sponsorships and donations of tanks in its local area. Two such donations have been to the Curramundi Community Kindergarten & Preschool Association to provide water for the children's playground activities; and to the Palmwood Riding Centre for the Disabled to provide water for their stables and sports grounds.
